By now, we’ve all had the experience of calling a company that we need service from or help with one of their products and getting a person with a thick accent answering the call. Both parties are taxed with trying to understand what the other is saying, and while the needed solution can be achieved, there may be much frustration along the way. Speaking about getting a lot of press and violence, in the Philippines, the violence is only minimal and confined to remote places in the island of Mindanao, which is the subject of most advisories for foreign travellers and the international press has made this clear. What is clearly not getting a lot of press but obvious enough is the patronage politics, the oligarchy that controls the local economy, it's unfriendly foreign-investor Constitution and several virtually corrupt government institutions. Otherwise, it is one of the best locations to do outsourcing. Apologies, but business people have a right to know. Cheers!
