Proficiency in spoken and written English is a resource that needs to be tapped, and quickly. I can attest to the deteriorating quality of the language here. At one of the colleges I used to partially teach, I encountered college students who can hardly speak straight and read straight. That's right, college students. What's the school doing? Nothing.
